I have had the best 3 weeks of my life volunteering at the Lilayi elephant nursery.  These orphans have all had a very tough start to life losing their mothers mainly through poaching. Sometimes they do not pull through despite all the efforts of the Veterinary team. However those that do are given the best chance of survival through the devotion and care of the Zambian keepers. I began sketching them and have now produced a series of cards for them to sell in their visitors centre.
